Thomas, Thanks for a job well done!!!
Thanks Scott, and thanks for adding to the show!
Sorry to hear that this is the last episode… but lucky for us, all of these podcasts are still relevant, inspiring and helpful. Great stuff to go back to every now and then!
THANK YOU!!!
Thanks for listening, Mathew. I’m glad so many people have gotten so much out of this series.
All the best Thomas with your other ventures. Might make a great book though!
81 episodes is a great achievement Thomas – thanks for all of the effort you’ve put into creating such a useful resource to Illustrators everywhere. Look forward to seeing what you come out with next.
great interview sorry to hear it end i love to listen to it in the background
Good to see it end on your terms. You interviewed some wonderful guests. They shared some amazing information. Your quote..”It is time for the show to end.” Is a sad note. You once had some high hopes for this show. “Once a weekly thing but I could not do it.” “Time to move on to other projects.” So many other things going on and that makes sense. Your heart is not in it. Makes sense. If you lose interest it’s time to go. 81 shows is a fairly good run. Most never get past a handful of shows. A success on that note.
All things come to an end… the podcast will be missed for sure. Thanks for all you have shared :) Much appreciated.
Great podcast and many words of wisdom from Zina.
Zina was very inspiring! Thanks Thomas for all the interviews and best wishes on all the future projects.
Thank you for all of your hard work Thomas :) I’ve been listening since I finished studying and just started to venture out into freelancing. The podcast has been a big help with my career and many others, I’m sure.
Many thanks for putting so much helpful info out there, Thomas. All things run their course, and that does not diminish their value. Cheers!
Thank you for creating wonderful 81 episodes for us! They’ve helped me become an illustrator and feel like a part of something big. I’m keeping them on my iTunes!
Wow. Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. This has been a real thrill for me and I’m glad that I came to this decision of ending the show on a high note. Thanks to all for joining me on this adventure. Now I can go back and listen to them from a different perspective.
Cheers,
Thomas
Your podcasts kept me very inspired during my work days. So valuable. Thanks for all the episodes.
Thomas,
As the old saw goes, ‘All good things must come to an end.’
This series of podcasts, even if there will be no more made, serve as an amazing historical document and information about some of the greatest illustrators and will be listened to for many years to come. These are invaluable to any new and seasoned artist. What would be a bigger tragedy is if all the podcasts are removed.
Thank you so much for all the wonderful work and time spent creating such a hub of information for the illustration world and congratulations on all the new projects and your illustration work.
I am sure we’ll talk again and see each other out in the world.
All my best and respect,
Scott Bakal
Great run, sorry to see it end. The podcast is one of the reasons that despite my age, I am perusing illustration as a career…best of luck with everything you do.
Thomas,
You have conducted some of the best interviews of illustrators around. Period. For instance, on the SiDEBAR podcast, we wanted to interview Dave McKean. However, after hearing your episode, we had to scratch that one off as yours was definitive. Along with Barron Storey, Murray Tinkelman, Marshall Arisman, Anita Kunz and many more, you have essentially warehoused a library of knowledge for the education and enjoyment of artists for years to come. Thank you for 81 great episodes and all the best in your future endeavors.

Wow, thanks very much, Adrian. That’s greatly appreciated. Thanks for being one of many inspirations for the show. Cheers.
Hi Thomas,
I’m sad to see it end… :/ but:
Thank you for everything!!! I wish you all the best!!! :D
Cheers!
Thomas,
I want to say that it is sad to see the EFII podcast fade into the ether after 81 episodes, but I can only imagine the mental strain that has been lifted because of it. You and the rest of the crew have done an amazing job getting some of the greatest interviews of some of the greatest artists to us in the general public and that will be misses, but thank you for every last one of them.
Aw…. man. Historic moment. You’ve done such a great job, that I don’t think any other podcast in the same line has done with your style, and thoughtful coverage. You, and your podcast, have been a part of my art life, and I thank you so much. I treasure my EFII coffee mug too (LOL). Its part of my art routines most of the time.
You rock!
(does this mean that I’ll be able to bump into you online more often? LOL!!!)
Thanks so much!!!
Jose
Thomas,
I’ve been a fan since the very beginning! Thank you so very much for taking me out of my illustration island with your wonderful interviews of amazing artists, art directors, reps & much more. I wish you much luck in your future endeavors & I look forward to running into you in the illustration world.
Best,
Julissa
Nooo! I just found this site not too long ago. It’s sad that it has ended. But I want to thank you for all of the great advice and inspiration that I have gotten from the few episodes that I had a chance to listen to. By the way, I found you though the Chris Oatley Artcast.
I will also thank you for all the podcasts that I didn’t listen to yet. :).
Andrea
Thanks a lot Thomas for the amazing interview podcasts you provided. Escape From Illustration Island has been an inspiration to me and really gave me a sense of community with other freelance illustrators.
Wishing you all the best and continued success in your future endeavors!
