Really good interview. I appreciate the idea brought up about personal contact with promotions. As a fairly shy person, I tend to want to lean on the technology (e-mail, social media, etc.) to do the work for me. However, it seems logical that, especially where money and business are involved, that potential clients need to at some point make personal contact with illustrators. I’m really planning on getting out of my shell this year tomake calls to follow up and promote myself and get my business off the ground. Thanks for all the great work your doing for the industry.

Thanks David. I agree that the personal touch is so important, and every artist can approach it in a way that works well with their personality. It can make a big difference in a world that is becoming more superficial due to the internet.

This is by far the most useful interview (for me) I have heard on the site thank you so much for this. I am getting ready to graduate from art school and get into the illustration field and I have been using this site as a resource for the business side of things and it has been very helpful.
