Brilliant Online Promotion Idea for Creative Professionals
One of the things I love about Twitter is that every day you’re likely to get turned on to something that you otherwise wouldn’t have found on your own.
Yesterday, fellow artist Calliope (@yskaya on Twitter) sent me a link to the above video as the perfect example of someone who has gone the extra mile in creating a unique and memorable video resume (or curriculum vitae).
In the video, Graeme Anthony walks you through a sincere, human introduction of who he is and what he has to offer. In fact, I’m tempted to go so far as to call it a ‘video website’ because of its highly interactive nature. The best part of the project is that it offers the potential client a voyeuristic look at Graeme’s personality and style, which is something that is increasingly valuable in today’s online world.
I wanted to share it with you today because it’s a valuable reminder of the importance of applying your creativity and ingenuity to every part of your business. That doesn’t mean that everyone should go out and copy the idea, but that everyone should take a moment to think about ways to highlight their strengths in order to stand out and do something different.
When clients are looking for someone with creative vision to bring excitement to their next project, you can bet they’ll be intrigued by those who are already doing so with their own business.
