Podcast Episode 42 – Creative Identity w/ Scott Hull
Episode 42 of the Escape from Illustration Island Podcast features the return of Artist Representative Scott Hull. Together we discuss his recent portfolio reviews for the launch of 15 Steps to Freelance Illustration, as well as the importance of finding your creative identity. I also give an update on EFII’s coverage of this week’s ICON6 Illustration conference.

Awesome podcast. So…….besides the image, what else brings value to the client? And, I suppose,……what else brings value to the viewer? It’s not just about selling the work. Hmmmmmm, I’ll need to noodle that. I think it will require a mirror.
Thanks!!
Value to clients:
Connection with clients and helping bring to the table what they need.
to have communication with client to bring ideas to a focus and be on the same plane. An exchange of ideas and possibilities in the process of creating.
What (I) bring to the table. “looking in the mirror deep”. :-)
Service: from start to finish. from connecting to where the relationship leads.
Just some of my thoughts that came up.

Thanks for listening to the podcast!!!! I welcome your feedback.
A new thought: I not looking for answers, I’m looking for opportunities…
Just found your podcast, and this episode, today from a Tweet – it was great! Lots of real thoughts about art, illustration, and marketing. Nice job, guys – I’ve subscribed.
Thanks Steve, and welcome to EFII!
Thanks so much to Scott for his one-on-one consultation. Scott has been a fantastic encouragement. Cheers to Scott and James.
Gang, Would you find it useful if I offered a series of coaching sessions based on building your living brand?
Hey Scott, I think that would be very helpful. I really appreciate the big picture thinking because sometimes I can get caught up in the small stuff.
What exactly do you mean by living brand?
