Hello fellow Illustrators!
Are you interested in learning ways to improve your portfolio?
I’m very excited to announce a new series here at Escape From Illustration Island, called Fine-Tuning Your Portfolio, which offers suggestions on ways to maximize the effectiveness of your Illustration portfolio.
I’ve covered this topic before in general terms, but many of you have requested a more in-depth look, so I’ll be examining some simple steps you can take to make your portfolio really shine and stand out in the crowd.
I’ll be updating the links on this post as the series grows, so if you don’t want to miss anything, you can simply bookmark this post and check back to get to the latest posts in the series. In fact, you already read the following articles:
- Part 1 – “Skimming the Fat”
- Part 2 – Consistency
- Part 3 – Segmenting
- Part 4 – Presentation
- Part 5 – Navigation
- Part 6 – Thumbnails
Special thanks to Melanie Matthews for providing the artwork for this series.
About Melanie Matthews: I am 22 years old, I live in Melbourne, Australia and I love to paint and draw. When I’m not drawing, you will probably find me reading, tinkering with websites, or relaxing with some videogames – I’m a bit of a geek at heart. My work is influenced by modern art and graphic design, children’s book illustrators from the 50′s and 60′s, retro cartoons and vintage cereal boxes.
