excellent interview about the other side of the table. many points made seem to be pointing towards honing one’s skills as a harmonious and polished package – no guessing on the AD side as to the product that will be delivered.

I’m guilty of placing “dogs” in my portfolio, just because the client had name recognition… not anymore. just work i love, and want to do more of.

thanks again for your interview – i wish i could ask questions as quickly as you. you’ve got a real talent.

What a spectacular interview – so much excellent insight from such a respected authority. Absolutely great – many thanks, Thomas. Looking forward to hearing more AD interviews. Nothing could be more valuable for illustrators to hear than the content covered in this podcast. Merci, mon ami :^)

Wow, fantastic. It’s really clever of you to get the point of view of an art director, we need more of this. After all we work for them. And what he said about needing to be desing entrepreneurs on top of illustrators is very interesting. Thank you very much Thomas.

    Thomas,
I really enjoyed this interview. You mentioned in another podcast illustrators have less of
a chance now a days to meet with art directors like Steve Heller and have an exchange of
ideas. I really miss those days. I hope you have more art directors and art buyer interviews
so illustrators like myself understand what they are thinking and what their needs are.

    thanks,
    Paul

      Thanks Paul,
I’m definitely working on pursuing more of those types of episodes. Glad you enjoyed it!
