I really enjoyed this episode, it’s great to learn more about the history of our profession. I can’t wait for next week, I want to hear more! And I agree that Leif would probably make a most excellent podcast host.

I just finished listening to the podcast, and it was extremely enjoyable. I just recently subscribed to the storyboard central blog, and I love it. Thomas Im so glad you had someone on that is storyboard/concept artist, this is what I do, and Im in a place now, where I’m struggling in the same ways that he struggled earlier in his career. I’ve been even more inspired to do more study on my illustration history, and I think Today’s Inspiration is a great place to start. I also found the discussion on postcards very helpful, because that is exactly where Im at right now, trying to re-invent myself and get a name for myself. With the economy being the way it is, it seems that storyboard work has gone down, and now Im finding myself with a lot of extra time on my hand, but this discussion with Leif has been really motivating. I cannot wait for the second part of the interview next week.

Great show! Leif sounds like a truly nice guy. I, too, have always been a huge fan of illustration’s Golden Age. How those guys were able to do what they did without computers and all our modern advantages is truly mind-boggling– and humbling– and inspiring.

A big thank you to Leif for making his wonderful collection available, and to you, Thomas, for bringing the Today’s Inspiration site to our attention.
