February 5, 2010
by Thomas James

Welcome to Week 2 of the Illustration Friday Challenge!

Please post a link to your submission in the comments section of this post to share with your fellow artists, and to enter to win Drew Struzan’s new DVD, Conceiving and Creating the Hellboy Movie Poster Art. (Find all the contest details here.) Your comment won’t show up right away, but don’t worry. It will soon!

This week’s Illustration Friday topic:

muddy

Be sure to also submit your link over at Illustration Friday. I’ll be posting my own interpretation of this topic soon, and I look forward to seeing everyone’s work in the comments section. Feel free to check out the work of your fellow artists and leave any comments or feedback. I hope this inspires some interaction within the EFII community. Don’t forget to check back for the details of next week’s topic here.

The deadline to enter this week is Thursday, February 11th at midnight PST.

Have fun!

Stay up to date with future Illustration resources via email, Facebook, and Twitter.

    http://blog.feliciachamberlain.com/2010/02/il-muddy.html

one summer i saw an old school bus sitting by the side of a vast field of mature corn. The bus was a makeshift bathroom for the field workers bussed in from the South to help harvest the 100s of acres of corn nearby. The water was pumped in from the near-by stream and was generally brown, since it was picking up the muck at the bottom of the stream bed.

Even though the water was muddy, people still were grateful for the structure and the effort to pump some water directly into the makeshift sinks. The previous year they had to find bushes or a tree for privacy and go to the stream directly to clean up.
