Brilliant! I love Illustration Friday, i find it regularly helps me out of a ‘creative block’. Here’s my submission this week for ‘focused’
http://www.anjoublog.blogspot.com
Nice idea! I had a similar thought of a dog looking at a bone on the other side of a fence. Nice work!
Hey Angela,
Thanks for sharing. I agree, Illustration Friday is one of the best ways to commit to working through “blocks”. Cheers.

Thanks Mihail. I’m curious. I’d love to hear your thoughts on how this ties in with the word “focused”. Thanks for submitting!

Nice drawing, Robert. Is this a self-portrait by any chance? Thanks for participating.
Thanks! and no, not a self portrait..

It’s nice when I’m psychically able to determine the topic a couple days ahead of time so the piece can be completed on Friday.
Nice Illustration Marcus. Good luck with those promo mailers. Thanks for sharing!

Here is my post for Illustration Friday’s topic – Focused.
http://propertyofkelly.blogspot.com/2010/01/illustration-friday-focused.html
Thanks Kelly. It’s very endearing!
This is something new for me. I do believe that I have nearly burnt myself out completely as a graphic designer. I want to be an illustrator full time now. Working toward that, I decided to do the latest Illustration Friday challenge: “focused” is the theme. I interpreted it to mean something less obvious… in this case, focus on obsessive internal thoughts.
Hey, I love your blog Thomas James! I only came across it a couple of weeks ago but I’ve already seen a lot of interesting articles! :)
Here’s my post for this weeks IF topic –
http://dinaliedraws.wordpress.com/2010/01/31/if-focused-2/
Clever concept! And well-drawn!
Cool idea! Here’s mine:

I love creating Illustration Friday pieces. They keep the creativity flowing.
Here’s my entry for this week: http://www.nightengailart.com/2010/01/illustration-friday-focused.html
Great idea! I have always wanted to participate to Illustration Friday but could never find the time to create an illustration in a short week. But with this challenge, I think I will find the motivation to do it.
Here is my first entry: Out of focus thoughts
Hope you like it!

http://jonesapalooza.blogspot.com/2010/02/focused.html
Last week I read Holly DeWolf’s book, listened to all 19 EFII podcasts and I feel really focused this week. Thanks for EFII.
http://whitewolfstudio.wordpress.com/2010/02/01/illustration-friday-focused/
Wow, that’s quite a feat. Glad you like the show. I hope you’re not tired of hearing the theme song.
Wow, EFII even made it into your Illustration. That’s quite an honor. Thanks!
I’m looking forward to the weekly shows (now that I’m caught up). There is so much value listening to full-time illustrators talk about their business and processes. Thank you again for creating such inspiring insights with the podcasts and your awesome resource site. Your hard work is appreciated by an aspiring old illustrator.
Donna Koepp
p.s. I like the theme song.

Thanks so much :)
Heyas! Here’s my Illustration Friday entry!
http://charreed.blogspot.com/2010/02/focused.html
Just the kick I needed to get back into IF once more :) What I tried to do in my piece was not only make the subject focused, but but painting itself go from unfocused to more focused. Hopefully that conveys correctly!
Thanks for hosting this challenge!
Hello. Nice work, everyone. Yesterday I submitted a piece for Illustration Friday: Focused. Maybe there is problem with the link or some other issue. I’ll try the link again. http://denverwagner.blogspot.com/2010/02/illustration-friday-focused.html
Hey Thomas,
Great job on the podcast and the info you share.

Just posted my first ever Illustration Friday submission.
Here’s my blog post!
http://jaglab.wordpress.com/2010/02/04/57/
The topic was “Focused”.
This was done based on a sketch of myself meditating.
I really rushed this, but that was part of my “experiment”.
Deadlines can really be motivation, and I forced myself, even though there were many time obstacles this week, to do this with very little time to spare, just to see what I could produce in a very tight pinch.
Great exercise!
Here is my entry for this week :)

http://rodgillespie.blogspot.com/2010/02/focused.html
Hello Rod. Actually, I originally posted the deadline as today by mistake, so I’m still accepting entries for one more day. You made it!
Hooray! I’ll have more reason to keep up with it through the rest of February, now.
Ah! Why the date changed?… well here is my illustration anyway :)…
http://elpingolito.blogspot.com/2010/02/focused.html
Don’t worry Ruben. You’ll be entered in the contest. I’m still accepting entries today, but the deadline for all other weeks is Thursday. Cheers!
