Someone else can argue about whether or not Drawger is technically a blog, but it’s updated daily and probably should be required reading/ viewing.
Thanks for the link, Leland! Looks like an interesting site. If nothing else, they have a hilarious About page.
Second on the drawger.com recommendation. It’s a Master class. I also recommend artbackwash.com and louromano.blogspot.com

Thanks Patricia! Have fun exploring these sites.
wish there was a really good free caricature blog to link up with. Is caricature art considered illustration???
Caricature, if created for a purpose, be it for reproduction or a fee, is illustration. I know you all hate the phrase “commercial art” but that is what it is…Art for Commerce. You didn’t wake up and say “Today I am gonna do Obama in a tutu.” No, your i-phone vibrated and there was a tweet from http://www.operanewstoday.com asking you to draw the President as a ballerina. Commercial.
Actually i wake up most days and decide i will do that tu-tu because its a portfolio piece which does attract commercial interest and i agree that caricatures produced for a customer is commercial. Thanks for your reply. I wish i could afford an i-phone, heehee….
Another Illustration site worth checking out is Sugar Frosted Goodness hosted by Jeff Andrews
This is a blog I always check out:
illustrationart.blogspot.com
It’s blog about that mainly discusses the history of illustration. I especially love the comments section. It’s always great to read serious discussions about the craft as well as know that there are people out there with a passion and appreciation for the art of illustration.
Thank you for gathering such a great list of illustration sites.
Here’s my own blog with a focus on digital children’s book illustration… http://www.theillustrationsite.com.
http://www.pikaland.com/
http://wefindwildness.blogspot.com/
http://www.pristina.org/
http://thescienceofdesign.blogspot.com/
http://www.createmake.com/
i think only pikaland is exclusively about illustration but I have found really good illustration at the others as well.
keep sharing your blogs.
best!
http://www.rob-sheridan.com/sketchblog/ would be worth noting, except for his recent lack of updates :/
Would have included http://www.learnsomethingeveryday.co.uk on there. Otherwise, nice post.

This is great. I often do Google searches for sites like these.. it’s nice to a few complied in a list like this.
Here is another very talented artist’s blog:
http://www.illusian.com/
Here’s a great one for people interested in concept design:
http://conceptships.blogspot.com/
Mainly featuring vehicles and mechs that have a distinctly sci-fi/video-game look bent to their design. There doesn’t seem to be much discussion about the submissions, but the gallery is definitely worth a look, and it’s updated fairly often.
Pretty nice place you’ve got here. Thanks for it. I like such topics and anything that is connected to them. I would like to read a bit more soon.
