EFII Community Member of the Month – October 2009

Escape From Illustration Island is entering an exciting new phase in its life, and the word that best describes that new phase is Community.  Over the past few weeks I’ve been working hard to move towards a goal that I outlined at the creation of EFII back in May, which is to provide a place where Illustrators can connect, communicate, and share.  Up until recently, EFII has been mostly a resource site, but I’m excited about its evolution into an Illustration Community as well.

So much of this evolution is due in no small part to the many Illustrators answering the call to join in on the conversations, spread the word, and share resources and feedback.

Right now I’d like to kick off a new Member of the Month series, where I’ll be highlighting and thanking some of the more active members of this voluntary community for helping to make EFII a success.

The first EFII Community Member of the Month is Jose Anibal Gonzalez (@Gonzalexx on Twitter, which is why I sometimes affectionately call him “Double X”).

Since the start of EFII, Jose has been one of it’s most enthusiastic supporters, offering feedback, spreading the word on Twitter, and contributing to the conversations taking place here.  He’s a great example of what makes a great community grow and thrive, which is the voluntary encouragement and participation of its members.  He not only supports Escape From Illustration Island, but also the Big Illustration Party Time Podcast, Art & Story, and many others.
