Tutorial of the Week – Picking Colors in Photoshop by Dani Jones

October 1, 2009

Dani Jones is known in the Illustration community both for her talent and her generosity when it comes to sharing the knowledge and techniques that she has learned in her career.  She shares in her creation process through her Live Ustream show and the Tutorial section on her blog.

For this week’s Tutorial, I chose to highlight her blog post on Picking Colors in Photoshop, because this is one of the initial steps in a digital painting process that can be easily overlooked.  However, your approach to color choices can be one of the most important aspects of your creative process.  In this tutorial, Dani shares the method that she uses to tackle this question, offering a very straightforward and common-sense technique of balancing color-customization with simplicity.
