I want to draw attention to a very special podcast brought to you by Chris Oatley, an inspiring artist and genuinely warm human being.  The not-so-secret ingredient to Chris Oatley’s Artcast is the way that this humanity and compassion comes radiating out of an audio recording of Chris ruminating about art, life, and inspiration while walking his dog.

This, of course just scratches the surface of the show, which also often includes video tutorials and demonstrations of a professional approach to Illustration, insightful interviews with fellow artists, and a sincere effort to deliver on his ambitious mission statement, which is “To Inspire You”.  All of this makes for a joyful, rewarding experience for those fortunate enough to find it.

Chris Oatley’s Artcast makes for a perfect first review for Escape From Illustration Island because it provides a wide and sturdy bridge from your lonesome studio to the Illustration community.  In addition, Chris is vocally passionate about connecting with people, and it shows.  I offer my thanks to Chris Oatley for sharing so much of his impressive knowledge and experience with the rest of us, and I encourage all Illustrators to visit ChrisOatley.com and take part in the exploration.

(Editor’s Note: For those of you interested in more podcast reviews, I will be posting past reviews that were originally available at my Thomas James Illustration blog, as well as producing more recommendations regularly in the future.)
